U9 Boys Take 2nd at Kaw Valley Cup

The U9 F.C. Majestic team took home 2nd Place this past weekend at the Kaw Valley Cup in rainy and soggy Lawrence, KS.  In pool play the boys tied Kaw Valley Force Santos 4-4, defeated KVSA Club Select 6-0, and won 7-0 against KC Fusion Strikers.  The championship game was a rematch against Santos.  Majestic was up 1-0 before giving up a penalty kick that evened the score.  The boys had several opportunities, but just couldn’t find the back of the net in the second half.  Santos scored with less than 4 minutes to play.  Another great weekend boys!

The U9 boys started the season off well by winning the Challenger Fall Classic.  They defeated the Topeka Select Blackhawks 6-1, tied KC Futura 2-2, and defeated Kansas Rush 5-1 to advance to the championship game.  In the championship game they once again faced KC Futura.  The title game was a back and forth battle.  The U9 boys started the game with an early 2-0 lead before giving up 2 goals before half.  In the second half they got behind 4-2 before battling back with 3 straight goals to pull out a 5-4 victory.  The boys have the next couple of weekends off before starting league play.
